Screening criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

Credentialed Evaluator designation could be considered an asset.

Experience

*Recent experience collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data within the context of program evaluation.

*Recent experience in writing reports or portions of reports.

Experience conducting evaluations of science, engineering and innovation programs could be considered an asset.

*Recent experience is defined as experience within the last two (5) years

The problem of job aggregators

The main purpose of job aggregators — and other job search tools — is to match the right people with the right jobs. But this isn’t what job aggregators are good at. While they bring a lot of candidates to employers, the number of actual hires thanks to job aggregators isn’t that large.

Job aggregators show job listings to millions of people who are looking for career opportunities. And this leads to many unqualified candidates applying for jobs.

Getting the wrong candidates is one challenge that vendors of job aggregator sites struggle with. The other one is the lack of functionality that appeals to job seekers.

People who are looking for a job often feel overwhelmed with the number of vacancies across job boards, aggregators, and social networks. There are so many opportunities, but job seekers don’t necessarily benefit from the quantity.

The problem with looking for a M&E job today is that many high-caliber jobs are not publicly listed. As a result, it’s hard for M&E professionals to be in the know about all the potential positions available around the world. M&E professionals can’t make their best career move if they are passively waiting for an M&E recruiter to present them with a lead, or for someone in their network to come to them with a job opportunity.
