Dr Balogun is a diligent and dedicated medical doctor with a passion and drive for using healthcare quality improvement models to achieve organizational objectives and attainment of healthcare quality dimensions. He has extensive years of experience implementing and leading implementation of funded programs, especially PEPFAR funded projects, and in working with the Government of Nigeria and other stakeholders to achieve program M&E results. He graduated from College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, with a degree in Human Medicine, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from University of Central Nicaragua. He is a Fellow of the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua), a member of the Society for Quality Healthcare in Nigeria (SQHN), Project Management Institute (PMI), and a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt. He has over 8 years’ experience leading teams, designing and implementing quality improvement projects, monitoring and evaluation, and strengthening health systems with demonstrable ability in the use of different models of quality improvement including Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Small Test of Change (STOC) and the Model for Improvement, popularized by Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). He has experience working in different medical fields but has particular interest in healthcare quality improvement, HIV/AIDS/TB care and treatment, leadership, and project management. He has 10 years of work experience in several states of Nigeria involving all levels of healthcare system in both the private, public sectors, and Non-Governmental Organization. He contributed to the WHO National Quality Policy and Strategy (NQPS) handbook and authored a blog for the WHO Quality Universal Health Coverage newsletter: Pulse. He is currently Director for Monitoring, Evaluation and Surveillance with APIN Public Health Initiatives on the PHIS3 project. The project is a PEPFAR funded Technical Assistance Mechanism through CDC and manages data reporting and data use from the National Data Repository. He has worked both as a lead and as a partner in multiple public health projects in HIV/AIDS particularly those with main objective of improving performance and outcomes. Dr Balogun speaks Yoruba and English fluently as well as basic Hausa and French languages.
