Description

I am an experienced international and domestic public health specialist with skills in the areas of program management, fiscal oversight, proposal development, program monitoring and evaluation, strategic information, epidemiology, coordination, workshop facilitation, and negotiation. I have over 20 years of experience in international public health, especially in the areas of HIV/AIDS and reproductive health.

I have conducted scientific research and presented it in international and domestic conferences and symposia. I have coauthored scientific articles either published or under review and am the first author on an additional four under peer review. I have also had significant experience with designing critical systems, tools, processes and approaches to program implementation and worked to integrate and institutionalize them in both USG and PVO settings. I have supported the codification of policies and procedures, particularly through the development of manuals and guidance memos and have conducted training for USG colleagues, host country representatives and international and host country non-governmental organizations.

Prior to undertaking doctoral studies in Epidemiology at VCU in 2010, I served for more than three and a half years as the PEPFAR Planning, Monitoring and Reporting advisor at USAID/Zambia. I have also served in various program management capacities at Family Health International’s Institute for HIV/AIDS, the Association of Public Health Laboratories and Planned Parenthood Global (formerly Family Planning International Assistance).

A graduate of the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, I earned a Masters in International Health and Development from Tulane University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
