About the Candidate
I am an experienced Data Analyst and Econometrician with a demonstrated history of working in humanitarian and international development. Skilled in Resilience Measurement and Analysis, Results based Monitoring and Evaluation, Food security analysis, Development of methodologies and tools for surveys and assessments as well as data handling and manipulation techniques. I am currently a resilience analyst and the head of monitoring, evaluation accountability and learning (MEAL) with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in Juba, South Sudan. I have over 10 years of experience in international development, humanitarian assistance, and resilience programming, monitoring and evaluation that cover several countries including Kenya, Somalia, and South Sudan. I have had significant contribution in the provision of quality evidence-based research to influence policy and programme implementation as evidenced by my publications in various journals including but not limited to the Journal of Development Effectiveness, the Journal of the International AIDS Society and the Journal of Loss and Trauma, International Perspectives on Stress & Coping. Before joining FAO, I was a data manager with the University of Washington Global Assistance Programme based in Kenya under the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission and Maternal Child Health Evaluation programme. I have an MSc in Quantitative Research Methods and an undergraduate degree in Applied Statistics with Information Technology from Maseno University.

• Develop and implement the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) strategy and framework for emergency and resilience programmes.
• Lead the planning and execution of baseline surveys, Mid Term and Project Annual Reviews, End of Project Evaluations and any special studies.
• Develop and update quantitative and qualitative data collection tools and resources required for monitoring of the overall programme and individual projects.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to monitor and assess the progress of various programme interventions.
• Prepare MEAL reports including compiling information to be included in MEAL reports, updates and any other relevant information products.
• Monitor planned Programme activities against work plans and results framework (log frame) and identify activities/areas requiring follow-up and timely alert the management in case of significant deviation from the expected outputs and outcomes.
• Integrate MEAL, food security and livelihood sector good practices into the MEAL framework and related tools.
• Monitor the performance of the resilience projects using relevant resilience measurement tools including RIMA.

Deliverables/Key Achievements
• Provided technical support to the African Union Commission and the government of South Sudan for monitoring and evaluation and reporting of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP)and the Malabo Declaration commitments.
• Developed and implemented the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) strategy and framework for ELRP and resilience programmes in FAO South Sudan
• Established ToRs, organized follow-up and implementation meetings for OED for evaluation of South Sudan’s emergency and resilience programme.
• Conducted resilience measurement trainings to resilience stakeholders (UN, Donors and FAO programme staff and analysts) under the Resilience Analysis, Measurement, Monitoring and Analysis Unit (RAMMU) platform.
• Provided technical leadership in the UN M&E working group: Led the development of South Sudan UNSDCF to provide the framework for UNCT engagement on development issues in South Sudan, mapping _SDG_NDS_UNCF indicators and regular monitoring of UNCF.
• M&E co-lead for the PfRR Joint Monitoring Measurements and Analysis Group (JAMMG) – organizing and facilitating group meetings, updating M&E framework and training field teams on monitoring and evaluation
• Currently leading the resilience measurement and analysis in South Sudan working closely with FAO RTEA in Nairobi and RIMA team in ESA, Rome through providing technical inputs and supporting the ministries in monitoring the commitments in the Malabo declaration.
• Collaborated with the IPC/FSNMS statistics working group to conduct statistical analysis of food security outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
Technical lead for building the capacity of government counterparts and FAO colleagues in data collection for resilience measurement and analysis using RIMA. The scope of work entailed designing both electronic and paper-based data collection tools, overseeing mobile data collection, data entry, and backup for baseline surveys and impact assessments, and conducting data cleaning, analysis, and report writing. Responsible for measuring and analyzing resilience, as well as food security, impact, and outcome indicators, and providing technical support to field staff in relation to statistical analysis and resilience measurement and analysis.
Deliverables/Key Achievements
• Co-led the resilience measurement and analysis working closely with FAO RTEA in Nairobi and RIMA team in ESA, Rome through providing technical input in bi-weekly and monthly meetings with RTEA and ESA respectively.
• Developed and facilitated resilience measurement training to resilience stakeholders ( UN, Donors and FAO programme staff and analysts) under the Resilience Analysis, Measurement , Monitoring and Analysis Unit (RAMMU) platform.
• Conducted South Sudan countrywide resilience analysis using FAO’s Resilience Index Measurement and Analysis (RIMA) methodology; the results have contributed to the South Sudan Partnership for Resilience and Recovery.
• Conducted baseline and follow-up surveys using RIMA and wrote reports for FAO South Sudan’s DANIDA/CIDA, SAFER, Cross Border and PROACT projects using RIMA methodology.
• Worked with the IPC/FSNMS statistics working group to conduct statistical analysis of food security outcomes.
• Provided technical inputs in various resilience measurement, monitoring and analysis working groups in South Sudan

• Food Security, Impact and Outcome indicators measurement, analysis and reporting
• Data analysis, cleaning, summary and report writing

• Overseeing mobile data collection, data entry and backup for needs, post-distribution and impact assessments in Somalia.
• Providing technical support to field staff in relation to statistical analyses, resilience measurement and analysis.
• Building the capacity of government counterparts and FAO colleagues in data collection for resilience measurement and analysis using RIMA.
Deliverables/Key Achievements
• Pioneered mobile data collection using Open Data Kit which resulted in a 30% increase in cost and time savings.
• Analyzed the baseline and follow-up surveys using RIMA and wrote reports for the UN Joint Resilience Strategy of WFP, FAO and UNICEF. As a result of the positive impact of the Joint Resilience Strategy, the Joint Resilience Programme was pioneered and implemented.

Main Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities
Responsible for managing, Clinical Trials and Adverse Drug Reactions Databases; designing and modification of both new and existing data collection tools ; data preparation, collation, cleaning, analysis and backup; monitoring and evaluation of ongoing clinical trials and Post Market surveillance studies; and training /sensitization of medical personnel on drug safety and pharmacovigilance
Deliverables/Key Achievements
• Part of the team that set up the Kenya Clinical Trials Database and Adverse Drug Reactions Database resulting in better organization, management and easy retrieval of information
• Conducted training across the country on drug safety, pharmacovigilance and proper reporting using the pharmacovigilance database. This led to availability of information on medicines and informed the approval of different medicines used in Kenya
