Are you interested in joining an organization that is making a difference in today’s challenging political climate? Everytown for Gun Safety is hiring an Evaluation and Learning intern to support our Associate Director, Evaluation and Learning.

The ideal person for this role is a graduate student pursuing monitoring and evaluation studies or mixed methods in social science research. The position will report to the Associate Director of Evaluation and Learning and sits on the External Engagement and Programs team. This position is based in our New York City or DC office, with an option to work remotely for 25 hours a week.

Everytown has a fast-paced work environment—currently hybrid —and we seek talented interns who crave learning new skills and aren’t afraid to tackle big projects. As an intern, you will get to work with a variety of our staff while working on projects that will help us grow.

In this role, you will learn:

  1. Gun violence prevention and strategies
  2. External engagement and partnerships
  3. How information flows throughout the organization
  4. Plenty of additional opportunities in related projects.

Key Evaluation and Learning Projects:

  • Salesforce for partnerships and portfolio measurement
  • Program evaluation planning and implementation
  • Grants and reports
  • Data collection and report using online survey and focus group methods
  • Assisting our Associate Director of Evaluation and Learning in managing information and projects

You should have:

  1. Experience or educational background in Monitoring and Evaluation, mixed method research, preferred
  2. Strong writing, communication, and organization skills
  3. Ability to complete tasks and communicate clearly while working in a virtual environment
  4. Excellent attention to details
  5. Interest in advocacy, particularly gun violence prevention
  6. Prior experience with Tableau, Google apps, zoom, and Slack.

Compensation Range: This is a paid internship. The pay rate for this role starts at $20 p/hr.

Proposed Scheduled: The start date is flexible. Please note you can be located anywhere in the US, but you must be available to work between the hours of 9 am-5 pm EST on your scheduled days, Monday-Friday, for a total of 25 hours per week. Can be flexible with the intern’s availability.
